When I started getting serious about playing volleyball my dad made it his mission to ensure that I consistently worked on my strength and agility while avoiding injury. He used his expertise in sports performance and rehab not only to improve my overall performance on the court but prevent serious injuries along the way. Eventually, my teammates began to take notice and asked him to help them as well. When there were minor injuries during tournaments, parents and teammates always turned to my dad seeking help and advice.
When it was time to select a college, I had a choice to make; pursue a big D1 college and risk playtime or go with a school that guaranteed playtime and valued me as a player. That is how I ended up at CSUSB where I have helped lead my team to 3x Conference Championships and earned 3x conference All-Tournament and 2x All-Tournament MOP, 2x NCAA West Regional All-Tournament, 2019 NCAA West Regional Tournament MVP, 2x NCAA West Regional Player of the Year, 2x AVCA D2 All American, 2x Academic All American, NCAA D2 Tournament MVP, Unanimous winner of the NCAA D2 National Player of the Year Award, and helped lead my team to the first-ever NCAA D2 Championship for CSUSB.
So a huge shout out and thanks to my dad who was also my trainer, as my college volleyball career was everything I ever wanted and more!
